It burnses…
Today I had to go see the eye doctor, which meant getting pupil dilation drops in my eyes. Of course, the day I do this, it just had to be one of the sunniest and brightest days in a while. Why today couldn’t be like yesterday where it was overcast, I don’t know. Curse you, Weather Gods. The one day I want it to be cloudy and you make me look like a goddamn vampire.
The bus ride home was interesting (and by “interesting” I mean “nearly blinding”). I’m sure to others on the bus it looked like I was about to spill the contents of my stomach onto the seat beside me, given that I had sunglasses on and was holding my head in my hands in order to prevent any kind of light from reaching my thrice normal-sized pupils. Not surprisingly, the seat beside me was empty.
After getting home I decided to try to sleep in my room; what else would I do for a couple of hours while my eyes readjusted themselves? But alas, that was not to be because the construction going on outside the house decided at that moment to begin use of the jackhammer. So there I lay for another hour or two, in as much darkness as I could muster. More than three hours after I got the dilation drops in my eyes, I could finally look out the window without squinting. Needless to say, I didn’t go to work.
What a marvelously unproductive day. And it wasn’t even the fun kind of unproductive.

Hope that your eye exam clears things up for you.
