Floral Focus

Sometimes the most interesting shots require you to be in the most interesting positions. I took this shot at a resort my cousin had his wedding at. Some flowers had fallen on the boardwalk by the beach and had not yet been cleared by the grounds crew. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to lie down on my stomach and start snapping photographs. I got this one playing with a longer aperture to get the flower completely in focus, but the length of the boardwalk allowed for a nice bokeh effect in the background.

It's not the most uncomfortable position I've been in to take a picture, but I certainly got a few weird looks from people who were lounging on nearby chairs. The resort staff were kind enough to allow me to get the shots I wanted before sweeping the petals into a nearby dirt patch for compost.
